Twolane Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Where are the Affinity V2 apps resources and preference files located? Object Styles, Text Styles, Fills, Brushes, Tool Presets, Grid Presets, Assets & Document Presets. I'm a little dense when it come to program setting backups, thanks to decades of "operator error" and keyboard/finger dexterity, for lack of a better description. Since V2 arrived, I have been making regular, dated backups of the entire .affinity directory. My expectation is that I have included every single bush, macro, menu setting, etc. in all three of the programs in the .affinity directory, as explained in the FAQ, above. Further to that FAQ posting: Is it safe to "assume" that if I have to do a full re-install of the entire software suite, I can safely copy over a backup of the entire .affinity directory into the appropriate directory and retain all of those settings? By the same token, if I have to do a complete re-install of only one of the programs, can I copy over only the appropriate (Photo / Designer / Publisher) directory to get back my settings in that particular program? I'm pretty certain your FAQ covered it, but are there any other directories I should back up on a regular basis? Call me paranoid for posting about a question asked and answered by the FAQ. All of the program-specific settings, yes. But note that the items you listed (Object Styles, Text Styles, Fills, Brushes, Tool Presets, Grid Presets, Assets & Document Presets) are shared between all 3 applications in V2, and are located in the Common directory. You cannot restore that information for just one of the programs. Twolane Posted April 17, 2023 Author Posted April 17, 2023 I located the .propcol files in the Common/2.0/user directory, so I'll back that up, too.
