Object styles no longer working in V2

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I've had some object style coming over from V1 that gave my text frames a nice fill or removed the fill. This no longer seems to work.

What I've tried:

- Exporting my styles, resetting the object styles and importing them again

- Recreating them from a new text frame

Paragraph and character style seems to work, but nothing applies a fill. The attached is what's supposed to happen. I've also noticed that once I've applied this fill that all new text frames have this style and even if I change the style, all new text frame will keep on having the same fill.

Also the default styles like Unicorn or Lunar don't seem to do anything.

They may be designed to work with RGB/8 documents. What color format are you using?

I previously used these styles also in CYMK.

Are you talking about your styles now? My CMYK comment was about the new V2 styles such as Unicorn and Lunar, which you could not have used in V1.

I tried installing your default.afstyles file in Publisher 2.1 beta, and your Monster style apples a 2-column setting and a Fill like you showed above. Your Default Text Frame reverts a frame to a single column and no Fill. (They also set the text characteristics, too, of course. Font, etc.)

However, Monster does not work in Publisher 2.0.4, so there does seem to be some kind of issue there that's been fixed for 2.1.

I'll wait a bit until 2.1 comes out

Note that we don't know when Serif will release 2.1 formally. It could still be a few weeks.

Unicorn and Lunar do work on objects, to test create a quick shape and apply those styles.

Your styles do work in 2.0.4 To apply your styles to a text frame, select the move tool (v) and select the text frame to apply the style, now select the style from the Styles Tab.

Bear in mind I'm using Mac Monterey not Windows so there may be differences here.

That's exactly what I did, when they did not work. So it may be something specific to Windows, as you mentioned.

Thanks for testing on Mac.
