When I change the master page applied to a page, some of the content doesn’t migrate.

The document has two master pages — one of the masters has a larger height than the other. When I change the master that’s applied to a page (selecting Replace Existing and Migrate), if the current master is shorter than the new master, content migrates; if the current master is longer than the new master, the content in the text frame at the top of the page doesn’t migrate.

To reproduce the issue in the attached example document:

  1. Apply the 3-Col Long master page to one of the pages (Replace Existing and Migrate).
  2. When prompted with “Target pages differ in size to the master. Would you like to resize them to match?” select Yes.
  3. On the same page, apply the 3-Col master (Replace Existing and Migrate).
  4. When prompted with “Target pages differ in size to the master. Would you like to resize them to match?” select Yes.

The heading at the top of the page doesn’t migrate after switching back to the shorter master.

If in step 4 above, I select No to resizing the page, all content does migrate.

Hi Brian, this bug is fixed in the 2.1 beta. I tested your document and it converted back and forth correct in beta 1730 but not in version 2.0.4 as you described. I don't know what the timeline is for releasing 2.1 but hopefully you could just workaround this issue until it is released.

Cheers,

Mike
