Bob May Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Having successfully created my first A5 zine via Affinity Publisher and Mixam I have edited and enlarged the original to 64 pages BUT I have run into a problem. The file needs to be press-ready PDF set to single pages. I managed to do this for the first zine but can't remembe what I did. Affinity Publisher for some reason treats pages 2 and 3 of an A5 publication as Page 2, pages 4 and 5 as Page 3 and so on. (I don't find this helpful). I can't work out how to Export it as single pages, rather than spreads - or to get Publisher to number the pages properly! When I upload the PDF to Mixam it treats the double-pages as single pages. Help please! Quote
walt.farrell Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 In the Export dialog, exporting to PDF, set the Area to All Pages rather than the default of All Spreads. Bob May Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 Thanks Walt. I tried that. For some reason my document numbering changed. I'm starting afresh and will keep an eye on the page set ups on the left of the screen. walt.farrell 1 Quote
walt.farrell Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Looking at your description again, it seems you may have setup the first document as Facing Pages, with each page 1/2 the width of the spread/paper size. But then you setup the second one without Facing Pages, and manually laid out the double pages on the wide paper. Bob May Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 I started by editing and enlarging an existing zine. I have decided to start anew. A shame you can't open two Publisher docs at the same time ... to copy and paste ... Quote

You can do that via File > Open for any saved AFPub document(s), along with File > New for any new ones. Depending on the OS you are using they will open in different tabs or in different document windows. Bob May Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 Hello R C-R, Thank you so much. And it works for me on Windows! Quote
