Thanks for fixing this bug but a new issue has been introduced, we can no longer create mailto links with subjects in them.

I saw a report today for 2.0.4 from another customer about spaces in mailto subjects (e.g., ?subject:This is a test) triggering the same error as a trailing or leading space.

When inserting an email hyperlink, the OK button is disabled until you type a valid email address and press Tab and in the 2.1 beta, the OK button won't be enabled when you type a question mark after an email address. It doesn't matter if you type ?subject=Test without any spaces, any string with a question mark will fail.

Ideally, inserting an email link would work the same as inserting a ULR - OK would always be enabled. Or perhaps dynamically enable OK for both only when the entered text is valid. There doesn't seem to be any validation for URLs, I can enter a URL of "test".

Also it would be nice if entering a URL with a trailing or leading space would trim the spaces. Publisher does this on export to PDF but it would be nice if the dialog trimmed then when OK was clicked.

Thanks

Hi Mike,

I've logged the fact an e-mail with ?subject=test at the end isn't viewed as being valid, as that is indeed a regression

I'll see if we can validate as text is entered, as it's currently possible to get something "invalid" accepted if you update it and click "OK" before tab, so that seems like a bug to me

Edit: Worth noting, you can create a URL with mailto:test@email.com?subject=test as a way around the first issue

Thanks
