rmcphee Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 I am left handed and have the studio set up on the left side of the screen, however any pop up menus appear on the right side of the screen, which means I must drag the pop up across the screen to the left so I can see what I'm doing. Is there a way to have these pop ups appear automatically on the left side of the screen. I am using a 24" Wacom tablet so this really is a pain constantly dragging the pop ups which slows down what I am doing. Quote
Hangman Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 @rmcphee, welcome to the forums... Sadly I don't believe there is any way to do that currently... I sympathise with you being left handed myself... an app preference to change default placement of pop up menu positions would be perfect, even if just Top Left, Bottom Left, Top Right or Bottom Right or even easier, you move a pop up and the app remembers the position rather than always appearing back in the default position... walt.farrell Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 What OS do you use, @rmcphee? Windows has a setting that might help, but I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're talking about without a screenshot. Hi Walt, Apologies for butting in, but I believe @rmcphee is referring to Layer Adjustments, which on Mac always default to the bottom right of the screen and means invariably you end up moving the panel, more so if you're left handed perhaps. I'd certainly be interested to understand the setting you have on Windows, if it is Affinity app specific and allows you to change this default in Affinity apps... I think it would be helpful to either have a preference that specifies the default position for layer adjustment panels (as mentioned above) or for the panel to automatically remember it's last opened position or to even allow them to be docked to the left or right studio or their own third layer adjustments studio as tabbed palettes or a collapsible list much like Capture One, that way you could build a studio, possibly a floating one of commonly used layer effects which you could toggle on or off with a keybooard shortcut rather than always having to select the adjustment from the drop down menu or via the Layer menu... It's not. It's a Windows setting related to tablets.
