Just had to replace my pc and the new one is significantly faster.

But the dictionary was missing when I loaded up publisher V1.

Should be in program data//// common, but there is no dictionary in there.

So I still have the old ssd and I checked there and it also was blank.

Where are the dictionaries  stored and how do I get publisher to recognise them?

Look in Preferences, Tools, and the expected dictionary for user-provided dictionary files will be shown.

Are you looking for a special dictionary you would have provided, or one of the standard ones (and if so, which one)? Are you getting some error message or other error indication? If so, what?

That is my dilemma, there are NO dictionaries shown.

I just want a GB dictionary. All the local Jersey words were in my dictionary and I now have to recreate them .

And as there is no dictionary, any word I store are lost by the next time I open the program.

The UK dictionary should be available by default. And it would not be in that directory, which is only for dictionaries you add, not for the built-in ones.

If you put the cursor into a text object, and then look in the Character panel, and look at Languages, what do you see specified for Spelling, and what choices do you have in the pull-down list? Can you provide a screenshot of that?

As for the "local Jersey words", if you added them by Learning them during Spellchecking, they were saved in the dictionary.propcol file in your "user" directory on your old machine. You would need to copy that file from the old machine (or a backup) to the new one.

If you're not familiar with where it was on the old machine, you can find it using the instructions in the FAQ below.

I have searched for dictionary propcol and others and nothing comes up anywhere

If you follow the instructions in that FAQ you should find dictionary.propcol (notice the ".", which was omitted in your message). But the location will depend on where you purchased the application. I presume you are looking on the old machine, not the new one?

If you've at least found the directory where it should be located, on the old machine, please give us a screenshot of the File Explorer window so we can see what files are there.
