I use an application that requires 16-bit RGB TIFF files (Total 48-bit). 64-bit TIFF do not work.
When I export a 16-bit TIFF from Affinity Photo, a file with a total of 64 bits is generated, which is not accepted by the application. (I think Affinity probably adds a 16-bit alpha channel).
How can I export a strictly 48-bit RGB TIFF from Affinity Photo?
In case Affinity adds an alpha channel, how can I remove it?

Assuming your Tiff file doesn't contain an alpha channel then exporting as a 16-bit Tiff file generates 16 bits per channel as shown in the EXIF data...

If you have an alpha channel included as part of your file then your file will have 64-bits of data if the alpha channel is included...

What is the application you are using that requires 16-bit RGB Tiff files.

I use "properties" in windows to see the depth in bits that the EXIF contains.
A TIFF image that windows gives me a depth of 48 bits, if I open it with Affinity Photo and export it, without doing any editing, it ends up with a depth of 64 bits.
The app I use is starnet (it's very related to your far galaxy).

Hi eider,

Are you able to upload a sample Tiff file so we can take a look?

Try ensuring Transparent Background is not enabled in the Document menu and then export to 16 bits per channel RGB TIFF.

As the above poster mentioned, it's likely because [Document > Transparent Background] is enabled.

You can create your own custom TIFF export preset that uses a solid white Matte, which will always export TIFF images with no transparency.

Yes, indeed the exported image has a depth of 48 bits if the matte is white.
Thank you very much to all of you who have responded.
