I'd like to suggest that Serif develop a web design and development application like Webflow or Editor X that supports the latest standards and features of HTML and CSS (including flexbox). Also, support the latest frameworks and major CMSs, including WordPress.

As a Wordpress user I use ADe and APh all the time to create and manage assets. A 2023 version of Dreamweaver is going to be a very minority sport with limited appeal in a CMS environment.

I would prefer something different: integration of the Affinity apps with the existing web development tools. There are already a myriad of them, many of them excellent. I can't see how Serif, with their limited resources, could compete.

On the contrary, what is sorely missing is a traditional publishing tool that can integrate with the web developement apps. Importing and exporting reusable data, sharing file formats, previewing projects in multiple channels (print, PDF, web).

I've been using RapidWeaver with Stacks and then Foundry for years for my personal projects. Foundry is particularly powerful.

Alas, RapidWeaver has switched to an expensive semi-subscription, and Foundry has announced to be closing for lack of redditivity. So, it doesn't look like a particularly interesting area where to invest.

Something that Canva could do is to hire the developer of Foundry, and let him add web features to Publisher. They wouldn’t have to start from scratch, and will give an important feature more to their pro suite.
