Sabotage
I’m new to Afinity (from Adobe) so apologize if this has been answered but I didn’t see it in the FAQs anywhere. First question: Is there a way to name assets on the iPad? I’m creating a songbook, and the way notes are written for tablature sometimes depends on the size of a single line. It’s not always easy to see which line is longer in the panel, so I’m constantly placing something and then removing it. It would be super helpful to see a name displayed under the asset, so I can make sure I’m selecting the right thing every time. Second question: Is there a way to put a background on the asset in the panel only? For example, my asset tab background is black, but my asset is black, too so it’s difficult to even see the asset. I don’t want the background on the symbol when I put it in the document, since it will overlay staff lines. If you can’t see it in the picture, there are two other asset images in that tab, but slightly darker black on black is not the easiest. walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. I believe the answer to both questions is no, not on iPad. For question 1 you can do it on the desktop apps, as they have a Show as List option for the Assets panel, but that seems to be missing on iPad. You could add a white background layer when creating each asset. Then simply turn off or delete the background layer after applying each asset. Serif are gradually improving the assets Studio so maybe future releases will offer these improvements. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
