vpkumar Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 I opened an image in Affinity Photo v2 with a resolution of 1920 x 2184 pixels and DPI 300. Then I tried to place another copy of the same image partially colored with a lower resolution of 469 x 563 pixels into the picture and then when I resize the document to the original image with resample. I can never get the same resolution. Can anyone please enlighten me. How to get the same picture clarity and resolution. I am attaching both photos. Quote
Alfred Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 The aspect ratios are different. For the smaller image to have the same aspect ratio as the larger one, the short side would need to be 495 pixels, not 463. vpkumar Posted January 30, 2023 Author Posted January 30, 2023 Even with that correction, I can get the same resolution and clarity. Quote

That correction should fix the resolution problem, unless you’re using the term “resolution” to refer to something else. Clarity will depend, at least in part, on the resampling method used: for enlargements, try Lanczos3 or bicubic. vpkumar 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
