MSIX - installation process under V2 Affinity

Recommended Posts

If you are talking about MSIX (as you mention in the topic title) then the updates are faster because they are "delta" patches to the existing V2 code you have installed, not complete replacements as was done for V1 (and will still be done for the MSI/EXE-based installers that are now available for V2 if you choose to use them).

Anybody want to signpost a reasonably simple explanation?

You should have been asked when you started the application if you want to update, where you can say no, and will update quickly and smoothly if you press Update.

Our applications do not update without you being asked UNLESS you bought from the Microsoft Store (and MS do not give you a choice about being on the latest version)

Ta, Walt. That's handy to know.

Yes, that was how it went. I was just slightly surprised by the new process.
