COUYA Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 In Affinity Publisher 2 superscrpit fonts are impossible: Avenir Next, Myriad pro....... Quote
GarryP Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 How are you setting the character(s) to Superscript? There are two settings in the Character Panel for Superscript. One is in the “Positioning and Transform” section and the other is in the “Typography” section. As I understand it, the one in the “Typography” section will set the characters to Superscript if the font has specific superscript characters in it (usually the best way to do it), while the other in “Positioning and Transform” creates an ‘on-the-fly-Superscript’ version of the character (usually good but not always as good as the other way). If you can’t press the Superscript button in the “Typography” section then you should be able to use the Superscript drop-down in the “Positioning and Transform” section. Quote
MikeTO Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Garry is right and both of these fonts work perfectly. Lines 1 and 2 are Avenir Next and 3 and 4 are Myriad Pro. The left number is superscripted text done with Character > Positioning and Transform. The middle number is a true superscript done with Character > Typography. The right number is a footnote - lines 1 and 3 show a superscripted footnote with Notes > Format > Superscript on while 2 and 4 show a superscripted footnote with that off.
