MikeTO Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 Hi. I think this may have been reported once already so hopefully Serif is already aware of it and working on the issue. While you're waiting for a reply from Serif, you might try disabling Metal in Preferences > Performance. Unselect "Enable Metal compute acceleration" and click Close. Restart Publisher. Then go back and change Display from Metal to OpenGL. Click Close and restart again. You shouldn't have to do this but it might fix this problem. If it doesn't then switch back to Metal because Metal is faster. Edited December 12, 2024 by Ralf Tempel howdytom 1 Quote
MikeTO Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Hi, Serif will probably need to know details about your computer and operating system. Which computer model, which operating system version, which monitor(s), etc. Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.5, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
howdytom Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Yes, since upgrading to the latest Version 2.5.6 and 2.5.7, I am experiencing the same flickering issue using a M2 Mac Studio Ultra, macOS Sonoma 14.7.2 and 2 displays connected. It is happening in Affinity Photo, Designer and Publisher. Random black and white pixels flickering all over my documents when I move the mouse. It is impossible to work. UPDATE: As soon as you unplug the second display, flickering disappears. It is bug! Quote

You can install download versions using these links. There were no announced changes in 2.5.7 which could cause this so it might be due to something else. Regardless, please reply back here with the results of reverting to 2.5.6 so that others know. howdytom Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 @MikeTO I really appreciate your quick response. Thanks for sharing the archive links. I reverted back to version 2.5.5. The issue is gone in Affinity Photo. However the flickering issue still occurs in Affinity Designer 2.5.5. The current workaround is to unplug the second display. Quote
