chrisb123 Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Hi, I have tried to fix images like below with haze removal and other adjustments but cant seem to get it looking good They are telephoto landscape images of mountains. Quote
NotMyFault Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Hi, what is your intention to optimize, how do you define “good”? sharpness contrast / HDR look colors (saturation) resolution/details looking natural or “idealistic” can you provide an unedited RAW file a matching example of the look you intend? NotMyFault Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 I would suggest haze removal filter (destructive) instead of clarity. but the jpeg image with compression / 8-bit depth leads to banding in the sky. This can be avoided by using RAW. chrisb123 Posted January 10, 2023 Author Posted January 10, 2023 My definition of good, is natural looking without the haze, rocky parts look like rocks greys and yellowish accents. The example I provided, does not have the right rock coloring, but the trees and sky are closer to how I'd like it too look 230109_144157P1090262.ORF Quote
chrisb123 Posted January 10, 2023 Author Posted January 10, 2023 I find it difficult to color the trees and rocks correctly, either the rocks or trees I can get to look ok but not both. To me the rocks have a green tint, but if I remove that the tree color gets washed out Quote
RichardMH Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 If you look at the histogram you can see the black point is way off. Just correcting that in levels brings a lot back. Quote
