Text boxes don't accept text!

Recommended Posts

Here's a new one, ultra-annoying if I do say so. I have been working with my book transcript in AP2 for a few weeks now. I am about 50 pages in to what will be a total of about 200. Suddenly, when I add a text box it will not let me write inside it! New text, no matter how many times I click inside the new text box or how many times I delete it and try again, always appears outside the box on the right hand side. On a day I was going to dedicate hours of time to transferring my writing from Apple Pages to AP2, I am stuck until I get some help. I have quit the program and restarted it a few times with no change.

I appreciate your help!

Thanks,

John

I am going to assume you mean a Frame Text Text Frame by your term Text Box.

You could try calling up the Text Frame Panel and doing some adjustments there

But first click on this after you have made a Text Frame. It will reset to defaults.

Most likely you set up offsets too large. Or you could have set up a 0 width column. That is the sort of thing you fix with the Text Frame panel.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Am I right to say that if you hit the green button to the left, by error, you would do the opposite… and propagate the problem ?

Is there a warning window that says "are you sure" ? I'm wondering ?

Yes, but then just hit the one on the right. The one on the right is the "Factory Defaults".

OK, i understand.

You have 3 levels, the factory values (red), your registered values (green), and your current value (not yet registered via the green button)…
