  1. I air dropped the file from my computer to my phone and opened it in the Kindle app. Hangman, I think that explains it. If anyone has suggestions on how to create an ebook version I’d appreciate it a lot. I was working with Calibre and Sigil but got deterred by a number of factors. I also thought Affinity Publisher was supposed to be rolling out that conversion feature. It can’t come soon enough!
  2. I'm still not getting what I need. The links work fine when part of a file in my files on my phone. When I export the file to Kindle rather than my files the links are not there. Am I still missing something? I thought I could use this version as a passable/sub-par ebook if the links worked. Thanks for your help, John
  3. I did not have Include Hyperlinks checked! Working fine now, thank you Hangman and Walt!
  4. Thanks for the quick reply, Walt. Will send a sample tomorrow morning.
  5. I have a related question. I'm trying to create an ebook version of the manuscript I've completed in Affinity Publisher 2. I see hyperlinks in my ToC and anchors at chapter titles. From there I am pretty lost. I have tried creating my own hyperlinks and anchors and saving the file as a .pdf., although it seems like maybe those hyperlinks are automatically added. When I open the file in Preview or on a Kindle, none of the links are active. Please tell me if I am correct that links and anchors are automatically added to a ToC and what I am doing wrong in trying to make them work in my .pdf. Thank you, John
  6. I adjusted the dimensions through Document Setup and it worked. Thanks anyway. John
  7. Hi all, I won't go into the fact that my cover file works fine on The Book Patch. I'm trying to put my book on Amazon and it repeatedly tells me that my cover file is the wrong dimensions. I have edited it a half dozen times and have specified 12.766 x 9.250 as mandated. In spite of Affinity Publisher v2 showing that my dimensions are correct, Amazon says they are different. I have attached image files of both AF2 and Amazon's response. I knew there was a reason I was avoiding Amazon, again. Thanks for your help, John
  8. Thank you, Walt. I appreciate your quick response and help. Will do.
  9. Hi everyone, I'm reorganizing my first book from scratch and have put a dozen or so chapters into the order I prefer. Strangely, on page 36 I have two "Heading" sections, one Heading 1 and one Heading 2. In spite of being physically organized in that order, the Heading 2 section appears first in my TOC, (under a different H1). I removed the second heading and replaced it and nothing changed. Please help me get the order correct, it's perplexing and seems to defy logic. Thank you, John AAiA.2023b.afpub
  10. Thanks Walt! Done & fixed! I couldn’t remember how to access and change the section details, hopefully next time I will 😊.
  11. Hi, I wonder if someone could help me get the page numbering right on this. I've added and deleted pages and somehow made what should be page one into page two. I have a section with pages numbered with Roman numerals before the main text. It's not a huge deal, but I want my book to be as perfect as possible. I'm attaching part of the file. I can never remember how to make changes like this in document setup. Thanks for your help, John sample.4.29.23.afpub
  12. Thanks Old Bruce and Mike. I did what you suggested, Old Bruce, (didn't really understand the difference between a "Pages" document versus an "All Pages" document, but when I exported as "All Pages" all the pages were indeed visible and the document is not rendered as facing pages, so I believe it will not be rejected when I try to print it. I will make the fixes you suggest manually, too, Mike. You've both brightened my mood and my day, thank you very much! Don't "convert", export a facing pages document to a Pages, not Spreads, PDF file. If you still have a Facing Pages document when you export it choose All Pages instead of the Default Spreads.
  13. Thanks, Mike, I have a feeling you're on the right track. I'll share the afpub file extract and if that isn't enough, I'll share the entire file. example.afpub
  14. Hi Mike, I cut a sample from the manuscript and will attach it here. I think further clarification might help, too. All of the chapters that disappeared have one thing in common, although the text is in text frames, these chapters don’t allow me to click on certain pages to make changes, I have to click on an adjacent page then move the cursor up or down to reach the semi-inaccessible page. I originally set up generic text frames for the whole document with Master Pages, but certain pages have photos and the text frames have to be custom for those pages. Thank you, John example.pdf
