I exported my color program palette from Mac and tried to import it to the iOS version, but it doesn't work. The file is grey and not choosable.

I am using iOs 16.2 on iPad 6. Generation. Perhaps a problem with the file dialog of iOS. Exporting does not work either.

According to the Help, you can only import .afpalette or .ase files.

Thank you, but the palette I tried to import was previously exported by Affinity Designer on my Mac... this should work, or am I wrong?

The desktop has a range of export formats. You need to ensure it was set to afpalette or ase.🙂

M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB   lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
Affinity Photo 1.10.5 Affinity Design 1.10.5
Affinity Publisher 2, Affinity Designer 2, Affinity Photo 2 and betas.

Neither in Version 1 nor Version 2 I can find any way to choose an other format. Where can I find it? 1709227852_Bildschirmfoto2023-01-06um08_09_00.png.8c0bdb4201fd9957e6f5117d3c3637a7.png

Are you perhaps exporting a System palette, rather than an Application or Document palette? Perhaps that makes a difference? (I can't tell, as Windows doesn't offer System palettes.)

No system palette. I created the palette by my own. How can I explore what kind of palette it is?

I am going to guess that the icon next to the palette name in your first screenshot indicates that it is a System palette. You determine the palette type when you create it, choosing among System, Application, and Document. And that icon does not match the icons for Application or Document palettes that I see on Windows.

Look in swatches menu. Document and System palettes have their own headings. The headings only appear if a pallette has been saved.

My mistake it seems. Helps, lists selecting ‘the type of file you want to create’ under Import which is confusing. On rereading I think it refers to selecting the file type rather than setting it.
