Adobe refuge - how do I do some things?

Recommended Posts

I have some questions as I adjust to a new software and GUI. I am a product photographer so align layers is useful to me-does this need to be done manually here?
How do I rename layers? I can't figure it out.
Clone stamp tells me to tap, but that isn't making a selection. I press and hold using my iPad pencil, and..nothing?
How do I save my photo? I like to save. A lot. I tried googling before asking here, but couldn't find anything.

You need to use your finger, in my experience.

In the Layers studio, select the layer. Tap the ... icon to get the Layer Options. Tap the current name (or object type) at the top of the panel, and you'll get a dialog to rename it.

What kind of file do you want to end up with?

You can return to the Live Docs section of the Photo 2 Home Screen, tap the options for the document's tile (hamburger menu) and choose Save or Save As to get a .afphoto file. Or, if you want a JPG/PNG/TIFF or some other format, you need to Export, which is an option on the Document (hamburger) menu within the document.

Got it, two problems solved! Thank you, finger worked.

I am unsure of the terms I need. Is a live doc the default save file?

My workflow coming from Adobe is to start some things on my macbook, then continue using on my iPad when it is most appropriate for a pen tool, and then go back. Is a live doc something I can move back and forth? I started with a tif file on my pc, airdropped it to my iPad. I believed I was using a tif file on my iPad. I guess what I want to do is export as a tif, so I'll give that a shot.

Okay, got it figured out. Thank you.
