SVG not imported correctly; background layer lost and color lost

Hi Specialists!!

If I show attached svg (my home town emblem) from wiki (don't know the creation app) in Safari or Chrome it's shown with a proper red background showing indicated fliers-de-lis .

Importing it into Affinity, the red background color same as the lilies are lost and it's just shown black.

Any idea how to fix this?

maaaaaany thanks,

Guido

Hi @GuidoB

This is not directly a bug, but rather a negligence of the developers. Affinity programs do not support all the features that SVG provides. For many formats, it must be said, not all possibilities are exploited.

Install Inkscape to convert the file to a pixel format. All other vector formats do not support the texture, as far as I have tested.

thanks a lot, Komatös. Actually, I was hoping that Serif would take this up to fully support the standard exchange format.

But your response is VERY helpful for me to see I didn't do sth wrong or can find a workaround

thanks for your time,

Guido!
