JavierBecana Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 Hi everyone, excuse me if this has already come up. I'd like to make some features requests on this topic: When drawing guides, I'd like to snap in rounded numbers (5, 10,...) by using a key modifier like Shift, or snapping by default and then use Alt key to override this behaviour. They could snap to grid divisions as well. Guides and grid management could be grouped in one window, and this could be open by doble cliking the ruler I think these exist in PS long ago, if any of them are already present in Affinity please let me know. Thanks. Quote

If you activate snap to grid, then this is exactly what will happen when you place or move guides. 2 hours ago, JavierBecana said: They could snap to grid divisions as well. They do. Just set up and save your custom grids. 2 hours ago, JavierBecana said: Guides and grid management could be grouped in one window Hm… I don't know. The guide management could still use quite some enhancement. But adding the grid with all its features to the same window will only increase bloat. Keep in mind that there's more to grid settings than just the "automatic" or the "basic" mode. That all said, I definitely do support this: 2 hours ago, JavierBecana said: When drawing guides, I'd like to snap in rounded numbers (5, 10,...) by using a key modifier like Shift Quote MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2
JavierBecana Posted December 21, 2022 Author Posted December 21, 2022 Opps, I didn't realize I had snapping to grid turned off, my fault. Thank you. Quote
Staff Ash Posted February 15, 2023 Staff Posted February 15, 2023 Hi - we have just made some improvements to guides in the 2.1 beta which is available from today, more details in the post below. Particularly relevant from this feedback is the new ability to hold shift to snap the movement of guides to ruler units. It would be great if you wanted to try it out in the beta and let us know what you think - you can sign up to the beta program here.
