Try above things first out!

And in case of any trouble, then instead just export the RAWs from the Photos app into some intermediate storage folder, which (the folder) you in turn monitor via some Automator etc. script for calling and passing over any new RAW file that appears in that folder to APh 2 then. - For folder monitoring & performing some action then on files there, see ...

What is the easiest way to do this so I can edit the raw image in the Develop persona in AP2?

Start in Apple Photos, select the raw image, press return to edit, click the three dots in the top right, choose Edit in Affinity Photo. This will take you into Affinity Photo's Develop Persona.

Make your modifications, click Develop. In Photo persona, make more changes if desired, save the image, close it. Confirm the edits in Apple Photos. You can always Revert to Original in Apple Photos' editing module.

NB if like me you still have Affinity Photo v1 installed, you'll see something similar to the following menu when you click the three dots in Apple Photos:

It's just about possible to detect the difference between the icons, but the one to choose for Affinity Photo v2 is the bottom one, selected in the screen grab.

Like I wrote in another recent topic, I have V1, V2, & the V2 β installed on my Mac, so I see three different "Edit in Affinity Photo" items in that popup. The V2 one is the last of the 3 in the popup (from what I can tell) & it does not work -- choosing it does nothing. The V1 & V2 β ones both work to open the document in those 2 apps.

Might be worth checking in System Preferences - Privacy & Security that Affinity Photo 2 has full access to Photos. Below is from Settings in Ventura (radically different look to earlier versions of macOS, but the principle is the same):

AP 2 did not have full disk access on my Mac, so I gave it that, but unfortunately it did not change anything.

There's also a specific section for Photos:

Setting this is done differently in Catalina (by adding the Photos app in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Full Disk Access) but even with granting Full Disk Access to Photos.app, it still won't work. Besides, the beta 2 version does work, with or without granting Photos full disk access, so I still have no idea why nothing happens when I choose AP V2 in the edit options.

EDIT: Also, there is a separate section in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab for Photos, but in Catalina there is no way there to add any apps to the access list (no + or - buttons like for Full Disk Access). In the Privacy > Photos item all 3 original Affinity V1 apps are listed but none of the V2 ones are there, so there must be some other way to add them that I have yet to discover.
