Hey there. I was just about to buy affinity photo, but I thought i'd try one more test: hook it up as the external photo editing app with my image browsers (acdsee and fastone). However, I can't do this. Ultimately when trying to find the .exe for your app, i discover through google that i need to access a folder that i can't access!

What's the trick?

Use the app linked in the post below to connect your image browser to Affinity Photo.

It's intentional Windows system design that you cannot access this folder and attempting to give yourself access will break the Windows UWP sandbox.

The correct way to do it is to use the helper app below.

@Patrick Connor suggest making sticky of the post below or make the app available for download in the downloads section of the Affinity website - it's quite hard to find unless you know exactly what you're looking for.

Agreed, were working on an " official" one, but anything is better than nothing. I'll do it tomorrow when I am at work

As a new member, jauburn might want to catch up with the extensive discussions about this problem that occurred over the past few weeks. One place to start is a couple of my summary posts with links at

https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/172570-link-to-exe-file-from-third-part-apps/&do=findComment&comment=990843

As a Faststone user, you might also write to the company requesting Affinity support. I sent them a lengthy request a couple of weeks ago pointing out all the discussions that included Faststone in these forums. They did not reply, which is disappointing considering the influence Faststone users have had here.

I have made this post, as a reply to the MSIX FAQ

Hmm. Why is this so difficult? I just want things to work. I don't have time to dick around with techie solutions. I've got a job and a busy life.

I'll wait till you guys figure this out to buy the application. Too bad. Seemed all okay otherwise.
