Affinity Photo Leaving Whiteline Artifacts When I Save JPGs

Recommended Posts

I've attached a handful of images with photos I recently just saved as JPGs. This has been happening to my photos for the previous 3 versions of the software. I have to continue to save and save until randomly the lines go away. It's a constant headache and I don't know what to do anymore. I don't want to switch over to Adobe after so many years, but this is a huge pain to continue to run into and work around.

Please advise on what I can do to remedy this issue.

Hi @Marcus Lewis,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

Firstly, what a shoot - some amazing images here!

We're certainly sorry to hear you're experiencing this in Affinity Photo, can you please do the following:

Open Affinity and navigate to Edit > Preferences > Performance & in this dialog please untick Hardware Acceleration.

Restart the app as prompted and then export your images once again, you should hopefully find this no longer occurs.

I hope this helps!

@Marcus Lewis

Please can you confirm that you are using Affinity Photo Version 1.10.x ? As I understand it this no longer happens in Version 2.0 and I just wanted to double check that you were not reporting this in our latest release, and that it has not come back.

Thanks for the tip Dan, I'll try it out and see if it fixes everything!

Also, yes Patrick, this is on version 1.10.5. I just got the notification that there was a new version, and I didn't realize there was a version 2.0!! That's really exciting, I'm going to have to jump into that upgrade, whichever way. Thanks so much!
