lovelyjubbly Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Hello helpful forum! I was wondering if there is a way to be more accurate with the knife tool so that I can snap it to start the cut at a particular node, then pivot the cut at a second node. In the attached image, I would like to start at the middle node on the bottom line, cut straight up the middle of the dart to the bust point (point where the triangle on the right comes in), then pivot and draw a diagonal cut into the armhole area (the curved line on the right). I've marked the "cut" line in pink, and it intersects the nodes at the bottom line and the triangle.. Quote
R C-R Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 AFAIK, the Knife Tool does not support snapping to nodes. Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.6 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
Nowave Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Hello, yes it is possible! You have another cutting tool to do this. Watch the video (you have to press ALT to select the curve that will cut before pressing the tool…) I hope this will work for you! 2022-12-02 08-51-48.mp4 lovelyjubbly, lukasivanovic and Andy05 3 Quote
lovelyjubbly Posted December 2, 2022 Author Posted December 2, 2022 @Marc Lthank you so much, that worked brilliantly! On a Mac, it's the option key rather than the alt key, but other than that, it worked perfectly 😁👍 Nowave 1 Quote
