Publisher on Mac mostly can't import Apple .heic screenshots

This is doubly annoying as HEIC is on the list of image formats that can be imported but you never know when it will work and when it won't—seems to work only about a third of the time now.

Attached is the screenshot that comes up using Ventura and the 2.0.0 Publisher version. This screenshot wouldn't import either.

I don't know why it won't work but why is your Mac taking screenshots in HEIC? I believe that iOS takes them in HEIC but not macOS.

Others are reporting issues importing HEIC

This is a known issue currently being investigated by our dev team. I'll update this thread once I have more info
