The colours shown on each slider represent the resulting colour you will get if you move that slider to that location. For example if you took that current colour and moved the green slider all the way to 0 you would get a magenta colour. The Red Slider will change from a Blue to Magenta gradient and the Blue changes from a Red to Magenta gradient to then represent the values you would get if you moved one of those sliders. I've attached a video that demonstrates this.
