Installing .msix without restriction

Recommended Posts

Hello I build and configured a poweruser engine with W10 Enterprise to have the control over my PC an my software.
This is why I deaktivatet via GPEDIT.MSC the access rights for users to the ms-store.

Due this the msix installation tool is blocked.

BUT THERE IS A VERY EASY WAY TO WORK ARROUND WHITHOUT RESTRICTIONS

<PJC I have moderated the advice here which is unsupported and will break with each patch>

@KallePeng

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums :)

Although your advise may appear to work, it will not work going forward (patches will break your suggestion). Please do not do this, it is UNSUPPORTED

I have edited your post, as I do not want others to fall into the same position accidentally

The funy thing for me was to see that my solution has had 5 readers before it was approved ;-) I think you was supprised how primitive is the msix and it isn´t save because you can open the packet, inject some bad code and pack it again.

May my solution isn´t patchable, but with a full packet it will work also in Future to have the latest software.

But it doesn´t work with the sandboxed msix install to give e.g. XnView MP to start the Apps as standard editor.

By the way... I stay on Version 1 until you offer a free of restrictions installer. If there is no way back for my with the version 2 edited and saved works I don´t go the way into the dependency.

By the way I think into to change to linux and then bye bye...

The one and only App it keeps me on Windows or Mac is Adobe Photoshop but you got the potential with affinity Photo to be a gamechanger if you bring out a linux version.

There are phantastic good programs like Reaper for audio, blackmagic reason for video, libre office, blender for 3D and vectoring.  I´m missing a prof. Photoeditor under linux.

Nope that breaks the digital signature and so it won't install.

Nope, we will make sure future MSIX updates refuse to even run if they aren't being run sandboxed.

We will fix that, sorry

This is not happening.
