Rico54 Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Hi Staff, I've just bought AP2 and I'm studying it and the first impression is very good, faster than V1. Creating a montage, a space soldier with my face. Downloaded a jpg from the web of the space soldier Loaded a tif photo of mine, cutted the face and pasted in the project Using the "Selection brus tool" on the soldier figure, "Refine..." then saving as "New layer with mask" All works fine The same procedure on my face from a tif and AP hangs, forcing the to exit. Restarting the system, try it again, same result I've Converted my tif in a png (with AP) I've tryed again and all works fine. Installation: first removed all v1 programs (APhoto, ADdesigner and APublisher) done with AppCleaner (related app files & folders removed) installed Aphoto v2 System: MacBook Pro M1 2020 8gb of ram, 512gb of ssd macOS Monterey 12.6.1 Quote Photographer & Guitarist equipped with Affinity Photo, Designer & Publisher on Mac.
Staff MEB Posted November 16, 2022 Staff Posted November 16, 2022 Hi @Rico54, I'm having trouble reproducing this here. Are you able to reproduce the hanging with other TIF file other the one with your face? In other words does it happen only with that TIF or generally with any TIF file? Do you mind sharing the TIF file you're having trouble with? Since its your face I can provide an upload link if you wish to keep it private - just let me know. Thanks. Hi Meb, Today I was not able to reproduce the problem. I tried both the same AP project and created a new one. The "offending" Tif was from LR. Today I tried generating them again from both LR and AP. Everything perfect and smooth. I am deeply sorry if I wasted your time, but I can assure you that the other day I tried and tried several times, always with AP blocking. I know thinking it was a problem of my MacBook Pro. I assume that the execution of macos’s automatic maintenance procedures repaired some incorrect permission. I solemnly promise to be more careful and make a more thorough investigation in case another problem occurs. 😁 Have a nice day. Staff MEB Posted November 17, 2022 Staff Posted November 17, 2022 Hi @Rico54, No worries. This type of thing (not being able to reproduce something we experienced before) happens to us all from time to time. I'm glad the application if behaving as it should now. You haven't wasted anyones time - we are here for this. Let us know if you run in the same issue again. Thanks for your feedback. Rico54 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
