Bounding box nuiscance

Sometimes it woulds be useful to be able to draw a rectangular object to coincide with another objects bounding box but when attempting to do this the rectangular tool cursor changes to one that only moves the bounding box.

Hit the Escape key to deselect the previous object before dragging the new one.

Thanks but that doesn't work! I want to be able to see the bounding box whilst dragging the rectangle to coincide with it.

Why not rely on snapping to align with the existing bounding box? You're not hoping to align by eye right?

If you want a visual indicator, then I'd suggest turning on Snapping > Show Snapping Candidates which will give the target object a purple outline, but one that can't be used to move / resize.
