Affinity Photo V2 doesn't show brush size

Recommended Posts

When trying to use brushes, the circle that shows the size of your brush doesn't appear, it remains a set of crosshairs regardless of size. It seems to work sometimes when zoomed in but even that isn't dependable. There's no visual confirmation of what size the brush will be until you try it, which results in backing up and starting over. I have experienced this on Dodge/Burn/Clone/Inpainting.

Is there a setting I'm missing or is this a problem that needs to be addressed? It makes the program very unpleasant to use.

This is on Windows.

Mine behave correctly, with the circle always showing. And I am not aware of a setting that would turn it off.

So I'm not sure what's going on. Perhaps someone else will know. Sorry.

Interesting on the caps lock. I've been cleaning out unwanted files and messed with a few older shots, and it worked every time today. I'll go back and try a few different things. Also noted that most today were Panny G9 files, and those I've been having trouble with are Sony. Shouldn't make any difference but will investigate anyway.

Try toggle CapsLock. It works on my side.

I vaguely remembered seeing something, but could not remember what. Thanks!

It's new in V2, and mentioned in the Photo 2 Help for What's New in V2: https://affinity.help/photo2/en-US.lproj/pages/Introduction/keyFeatures.html?list=newFeatures

Switch to a crosshair cursor on all brush tools using caps lock
