Designer v2: Can't see Layers in the embedded afphoto file

I'd like to use the new feature of turning on/off layers of the embedded afphoto in the Designer. But I can't see the menu item to do so 😞

Just like me. The layers in AP have to be Layers not layers (or what I call them: elements). To get this to work, in AP have to be made new LAYERS and the ELEMENTS have to be moved into the LAYERS. I hope this was understandable?

My fault. With the Layers I tried this in AD not AP. In AP I do not know. It feels like this layer override is not thought to the end.

It crossed my mind too. I re-edited the file in AD with proper layers, saved, and.. Tada! ...nothing.

But does it mean, the Layers doesn't work with native AP files?!

Photo cannot create Layer layers. That is a function of Designer.

So the Publisher's new feature is half baked. I prepare pictures in AP mainly. Not in AD. And I believe most other users too. Re-editing images in AD is a terrible workaround and it's not worth the effort.

It also works with PDF, DXF, and other file formats. It just may not have been intended for use with .afphoto files. Note, though, that you can add Layers with Designer, then transfer the file to Photo and work on those Layers.

You can also work in Publisher, which gives you most of the Photo functions from Photo's Photo Persona, and the functions from Designer's Designer Persona, to make such interoperation of Designer and Photo easier.

So it may simply be that to take advantage of this function you will need to adjust your workflow a bit.
