Geoffrey
If I draw a shape within a shape can I combine the 2 shapes so that the internal shape doesn't fill eg a circle within a circle so the fill looks like a donut
A_B_C
For sure. Simply subtract the “internal” shape from the “external” one. Make sure the “internal” shape appears above the “external” one in the layers list. Select both. Choose Layer > Geometry > Subtract or, to perform the subtraction non-destructively, Layer > Create Compound and choose Subtract in the layers list (my screen shot). Hope that helps … :) Alex
Staff MEB Posted January 9, 2016 Staff Share Posted January 9, 2016 Hi Geoffrey, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Alternatively, select both shapes and click Combine in the Operation section on the main toolbar. To break them apart again, select the object again (now a donut) and click on Divide button in the Operations section.
