Selecting NEW causes programme to minimise back to dock icon

Can anyone throw any light as to why "sometimes" when I choose NEW and then choose a paper size, the screen reverts to the desktop and I have to double click the Affinity Photo icon in my toolbar to reopen the programme. It reopens with the page size I requested and then the programme runs as normal.

MacbookPro M2 Cip 2022 running Monterey 12.5.1

Hi Harrythespida,

I don't think I've ever seen an issue like this reported before. If possible could you provide a screen recording demonstrating this issue so I can investigate this further for you?
