shushustorm
Hey everyone! Not sure this is a bug or not, but when working with a few hundred files, sometimes, the layer layout (collapsed group states, selection states) is retained through closing and opening a file, but sometimes, it is not. Is there a way to reliably retain the layer state? Best wishes, Shu
Staff NathanC Posted September 12, 2022 Staff Share Posted September 12, 2022 Hi @shushustorm, This is working as expected for me, If I were to save a copy of a file (or let autosave) with all groups expanded and an active selection of an object in a group, when I next open a file the selection will be retained with the group expanded with all other groups collapsed. Alternatively, If I expand all groups/layers and save a file with no active selection, make a change and save, when the file is next opened the expanded groups are collapsed. This is the same on iPad and Desktop. shushustorm
shushustorm
@NathanC Alright, thanks for the reply! Wasn't obvious to me that specifically having a selection within a group would retain that group's expanded state as well as the selection within, while outside selections and groups' expanded state without child selections would not be retained at all. Quite specific. But I guess it can be useful that way, when you know the behaviour. NathanC
