Fritz_H
I often use pan and zoom to find the area I want to crop to. When selecting the crop-tool the whole images becomes selected. To grab the handles I have to zoom out completely. This forces me to search again for the area I found before. An option like "crop to visible area" could speed up this process. BTW: an option to completely darken the area outside the cropped part would also help.
GarryP
While using the Crop Tool you can simply draw the crop area wherever you are zoomed into – just drag the mouse pointer from one place to another and the crop area will be whatever rectangle you have dragged. See attached video for an example. Or am I not understanding your requirements correctly? 2022-08-28 09-10-58.mp4

Fritz_H
@GarryP Thanks, I was not aware of that; this may serve as a work-around.
Fritz_H
@PaulEC I meant: not visible at all. Even better: a slider to change the transparency in real time?
