I can find the Inverse Pixel Selection - but that's not what I want. I guess maybe it's not a feature many people use or want? or think has any value.

If I have a complex node pattern and I want to change a small portion: I can create two layers and use Alt-drag round with the Node Tool to delete either portion - giving me maximum freedom to change small portion.

It's easy enough to do but it would be easier if there was a function for "inverting" a selected small portion of a mode pattern so that it instead selects all other nodes and deselects selected ones.

Otherwise - if there's a way to rotate a selected portion then I could do it that way. I'm subtracting branches out of a complex node pattern by drawing over the joining part with a rectangle - then I want to move AND rotate it.

Hi @awakenedbyowls as far as i'm aware there isn't an invert node selection functionality currently, it has come up in the thread below previously where a user interpreted the missing functionality as a bug.

It has also come up in the older feature requests board.
