North Visual Studio Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Hi, I've been using AP with Win10 for a few years and have noticed a progressive slowing in the performance of the program, which has got so bad that I might have to move back to PS. I mainly use it for compositing 3D renders which are 32bit exr's, there are usually 5 to 10 layers. I would open the main RGB layer then use Place to add the remaining layers - this is also a slow process. Simple blending and opacity and not much else is done but it lags so bad when I do anything. Turning Layers on and off (including other commands) has sufficient lag that it's becoming a hinderance to my workflow. I've attached the Performance Tab settings. There are 4 GPU's, 128 Gb Ram so, it must be something else that causing it. I love this program and don't want to have to change it, can someone shed some light on this? Thanks, N Quote
RichardMH Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Does turning off hardware acceleration make any difference? Quote
Dan C Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Hi @North Visual Studio, I'd also recommend ensuring Affinity is only using one of your GPUs, as multiple cards from different generations may be slowing down the app - Here you should be able to set the 3080ti as the card that Affinity uses. Please do let us know if this helps Quote
North Visual Studio Posted August 2, 2022 Author Posted August 2, 2022 Wow, I turned off Hardware acceleration and followed the steps in your link Dan C - and AP is back to normal!!! I can't thank you enough! N RichardMH and Dan C 2 Quote
