lhobson Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 A D running very slow when using the pencil and brush tool which makes it impossible to function (one stroke takes 5-7 minutes to complete). Running on iMac, with latest version, and my fan comes on immediately when trying to use pencil tool. Do I need to re-install program? Any suggestions at this point would be greatly appreciated because the program is totally useless at this time...please help Quote
Staff NathanC Posted July 19, 2022 Staff Posted July 19, 2022 Hi @lhobson, Have you tried disabling Hardware Acceleration under Preferences > Performance and restarting the app to see if this makes an improvement? If this doesn't have an impact it would be beneficial if you could send a screenshot of your Performance Settings along with your 'About this Mac' Overview. Additionally, before trying a re-install of the app I would suggest going through a factory reset of the app to clear all settings, the video below demonstrates how to do this along with backing up/restoring any custom resources (Tutorial is for Photo but it is the same process for Designer). lhobson Posted July 19, 2022 Author Posted July 19, 2022 thank you so much for the suggestions that I will try immediately...do you think that my external hard drive could have effected this problem? Seems my external went hay-wire around the same time I was having the problem with A D...so I have no external at this time as my son is trying to fix it...grrrr Quote
lhobson Posted July 19, 2022 Author Posted July 19, 2022 I went into Performance to restart app, but wasn't sure how to restart the app. here are screen shots Quote
