minimejdh1 Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 What are differential use cases for presets vs templates? Just getting started. Appreciate the response. Quote
walt.farrell Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. During File > New: 1. A Preset defines the characteristics of the document, such as dimensions, color format, margins, bleed, etc. It did not provide any data. 2. A Template provides all the items provided by a Preset, and can also provide data or layout information for you to start with. Lialuna Posted August 24, 2022 Posted August 24, 2022 Am pretty new to affinity applications! Am trying to set up a picture book - have entered the settings for layout etc and it has appeared in my presets then I set up the book cover as a separate item. all good except for the page numbers - however I try to alter them, the page numbers for the cover and for the interior of the book change to the same. I don't need 32 pages for the book cover! if i change that the numbers for the interior pages change too. Please tell me what I am doing wrong... Should I be using templates instead? Thank you Quote
