Emanaia Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 I don't know if this is the right place to put this but here goes. I will be using my mouse to erase or blur etc. and all of a sudden the cursor takes off on its own. erasing or blurring areas I don't want changed, meaning I then have to start over. It happens randomly so there is no way to know when it is going to happen next. If it helps, I use a laptop and not a desktop. Any idea why it would do that? Surely I can not be the only person this has happened to. Thanks in advance for any help you can give! Quote
R C-R Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Do you use a mouse or the trackpad of your laptop? Does this happen with any other app? Emanaia Posted July 10, 2022 Author Posted July 10, 2022 I use a trackpad and this is the only program I have problems with. Quote
Dan C Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 Hi @Emanaia, Sorry to hear you're having trouble! I'd like to request a screen recording showing this issue for me, as I've not heard of this being reported before. Please attach this recording to your reply here for me. If you're unsure how to take a screen recording, please check out our FAQ linked below - Can you also please navigate to Edit > Preferences > Performance and provide a screenshot of your settings here? Many thanks in advance Quote
Emanaia Posted July 11, 2022 Author Posted July 11, 2022 It is impossible to do a screen recording of it unless I try to record every time I go to use a tool. It happens randomly with no way for me to tell when it is going to happen.. I can however show you the performance settings. Thanks! 😁 https://sta.sh/0knqb3hcn6n (screenshot) Quote
Dan C Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 Thanks for providing that for me & I certainly understand regarding the screen recording! I'd recommend the following in your preferences: Increase the RAM Usage Limit to twice its current value (8192mb) Set View Quality to Nearest Neighbour Set Retina Rendering to Low Quality (fastest) Most importantly, please ensure the latest drivers for your AMD Radeon graphics are fully up to date, directly from the manufacturers website. Once the driver is installed & these changes have been made, restart your PC and try using Affinity once again - hopefully this issue should no longer occur for you Quote
Emanaia Posted July 11, 2022 Author Posted July 11, 2022 I will try those options and hope for the best. Thanks so much for your help! If it continues I will reach out again. Dan C 1 Quote
