Affinity_Pro Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 (edited) Hi I've recently installed Photo and have been playing around with it. It has crashed 2-3 times alreadys seemingly randomly. I did not get a beach ball or any error message. The window literally disappeared by itself and it was completely shut down. I saved the error report that you can share with Apple please let me know if this is useful for you. I am not sure if there are other files/records on my computer I can share with you other than these, if there are please let me know. What is your operating system and version (Windows 10, OSX Mojave, iOS 12 etc)? OS Big Sur 11.6.6 running on macbook pro retina late 2013 Is hardware acceleration (in Preferences > Performance) ON or OFF ? (and have you tried the other setting?) ON (by default), I did not change any of these settings What happened for you (and what you expected to happen): Seemingly random. I was mostly playing with brushes, shapes, nodes, etc. Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did). Only playing around Screenshots (very handy) or a screen capture/video. N/A Any unusual hardware (like tablets or external monitors or drives that may affect things) or relevant other applications like font managers or display managers. N/A Did this same thing used to work and if so have you changed anything recently? (software or hardware) N/A Error report.txt Edited June 2, 2022 by Affinity_Pro Quote
Staff Lee D Posted June 6, 2022 Staff Posted June 6, 2022 HI @Affinity_Pro Welcome to the forums. If you open the apps Preferences > Performance if you have the option to turn off Hardware Acceleration/Metal please do and then restart the app. If this fails open that section up again and make sure the Display is set to OpenGL.
