Hi

I've recently installed Photo and have been playing around with it. It has crashed 2-3 times alreadys seemingly randomly. I did not get a beach ball or any error message. The window literally disappeared by itself and it was completely shut down. I saved the error report that you can share with Apple please let me know if this is useful for you. I am not sure if there are other files/records on my computer I can share with you other than these, if there are please let me know.

  • What is your operating system and version (Windows 10, OSX Mojave, iOS 12 etc)? OS Big Sur 11.6.6 running on macbook pro retina late 2013
  •    Is hardware acceleration (in Preferences > Performance) ON or OFF ? (and have you tried the other setting?) ON (by default), I did not change any of these settings
  •    What happened for you (and what you expected to happen): Seemingly random. I was mostly playing with brushes, shapes, nodes, etc.
  •    Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did). Only playing around
  •    Screenshots (very handy) or a screen capture/video. N/A
  •    Any unusual hardware (like tablets or external monitors or drives that may affect things) or relevant other applications like font managers or display managers. N/A
  •    Did this same thing used to work and if so have you changed anything recently? (software or hardware) N/A

HI @Affinity_Pro

Welcome to the forums.

If you open the apps Preferences > Performance if you have the option to turn off Hardware Acceleration/Metal please do and then restart the app. If this fails open that section up again and make sure the Display is set to OpenGL.
