EkJohnson Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Is it possible for a single curve to overlap itself to create something of a 3D effect? In my example I've got this curve (drawn with the Pen tool) that loops and overlaps itself. Thanks to a different post, I've learned about the Layer Fill Mode > Winding (non-zero) which takes care of the cutout but the stroke/outline is still a problem. I was going to give in and rasterize it in order to just paint out the unwanted lines but since I've filled the shape with a gradient, it doesn't blend in at all. I'm also resistant to rasterizing the shape since I won't be able to manipulate it at all later if I need to do so. Or should this be made of 2 or more shapes instead? Many thanks! Quote
v_kyr Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Hi and welcome! See for example ... How to join curves Overlapping drawn shape has no fill Winding fill mode and intersections Eliminating overlapping lines Is there a way to expand a single overlapping stroke as itself or in sections? Is it possible to do this PS "mixer brush" technique in Affinity Designer/Photo? ... there should be even more related forum posts, do some search in the forum/Google for the topic! EkJohnson Posted May 31, 2022 Author Posted May 31, 2022 Thank you v_kyr! I think I found a solution with breaking the curve at certain points. This after the fact that I went ahead and made multiple separate shapes as a workaround. 😛 Raymondo and v_kyr 2 Quote
