John-B
Whenever I have two documents sharing the same window in tabs (which I only ever do accidentally), when I drag one out, it leaves behind ghost windows. These transparent windows are on top of everything else. Eventually, they go away, but I usually have to restart AP since it can take a while. This happened on my old machine, a late-2015 iMac, 10.14, and it happens on my new machine, a Mac Studio 12.3.1, Photo 1.10.5.
Staff Callum Posted May 11, 2022 Staff Share Posted May 11, 2022 Hi John-b, Does the shortcut for showing your desktop CMD + F3 cause the ghost windows to disappear? Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.

Thanks C The ghost windows disappear with everything else, but they come right back. The only thing that SOMETIMES makes the windows go away is clicking in another AP document window. A few minutes ago, that fixed it, but I tried just now, and no amount of clicking anywhere will make the ghosts go away. Actually, I just went back to AP and clicked through each of the open windows several times, and the ghosts did go away. I just have to be persistent. Old Bruce
Happens here with OS 12.6.5 I find if I choose the originating window and move its location a bit (or a lot) then the other(s) will become solid again. This is one of the reasons I so very rarely use Separated Mode. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4 Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

On the bright side, I never intentionally drag one window into another, so it doesn't happen very often.
John-B
Sometimes the ghost window follows me when I switch to another app.
