Function request, fill curve with brush (paintbrush)

Recommended Posts

In Affinty designer it is possible to fill a curve or contour with the last used vector brush. It would be a new useful feature to do this with paintbrushes in Affinty Photo as well. The option field in the contours is already there, but it currently has no function.

It is certainly possible to stroke a curve using the Stroke panel or the pull-down from the Stroke box in the Context Toolbar, but I do not think it is possible to fill a curve except by painting using the brush.

It has no direct function in Photo, because it requires vector brushes, and Photo does not have those brushes. It has an indirect function, in that Photo can Open files created by Designer, and the box must be there in the interface so you can tell that an object has had a textured line stroke applied to it.

By the way, the forum guidelines suggest that before posting a Feature Request you should search for an existing one, and when you find one that you add your thoughts to it rather than creating a new topic. If you look at the top of this forum, for example, you'll see:

Sorry, i dont find a request to fill a curve with the pixel brush.

There isn't one, that I know of, but the other part does exist in existing requests.

Note, though, that it's already possible to nest a pixel layer within a curve and then you can paint on that pixel layer and it will be bounded by the curve.

For example:

As I said earlier, there's no way to "fill" with a brush except by painting, in either Designer or Photo.
