How to edit and update a a Svg placed as a linked file

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My following question is about a Svg placed as a linked file not as an embedded file.

Is there a way to edit it and get all its duplicates updated (as what happen when the svg is placed as an embedded file)?

The reason i want to place the svg as a linked file instead of an embedded is to have a lighter affinity designer file

Thank you

Take a file named This.svg and place it linked into an Affinity Designer file called One.afdesign.

If you have the Preferences for Designer set to update automatically the linked files then if you edit the file This.svg an application, any application, then the next time you open One.afdesign the placed, linked file will be updated. In fact you shouldn't have to re-open the file One.afdesign to get the linked file updating.

If you do not have the preference set to update automatically you will have to use the Resources Manager to update linked files.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 11.7.1
Affinity Designer 2.0.0 | Affinity Photo 2.0.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.0.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

What do you mean by "all its duplicates"?
