Timonautik
As an comic addicted illustrator I like the process to sketch first, ink the outlines with a dynamic calligraphic vector brush and finish the work on a layer below the lines with colourising vector forms. So I did for years in Adobe Illustrator. But I have no clue how to bring it in flow with Affinity designer. It is possible to draw filled forms and keep the chosen characteristic until changing them? Also it would by nice to take over the characterisica of colours and outlines with the eyedropping tool to continue. Seems to me so basicly, but I have not found any tutorial about this topic. Does anyone have an idea how to handle it? iuli
Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Timonautik. It is certainly possible to draw filled shapes that have the same characteristics as previously drawn shapes, and if you use symbols or global colours you can easily change the fill of identically coloured shapes all at the same time. When you use the eyedropper in the Colour panel, the picked colour appears in the well next to the eyedropper icon, ready to be applied to any selected objects. T-Mo
Dear Alfred. Many thanks for the quick response. It doesn't work for me. As soon as I draw a shape with the brush, it is empty even though I previously selected a fill color. then I have to reselect and fill the shape. I don't know if I have to tick anything, I've already searched everything Thron the options. Is it not a standard behaviour that you can draw immediately with filling in any Vector programs? I do not know how to solve....is it a Buck?

For me it seems to be a riddle.
Alfred
I think I misunderstood what you were describing. When drawing with Pen Tool you can activate the ‘Use Fill’ option, but the Vector Brush Tool doesn’t offer that possibility. A simple workaround is to draw with the Pen Tool and then tap on the desired brush in the Brushes Studio.
