Dangerous Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 When you use a different brush ie a texture brush there is a number to the left of the brush pattern and on hover the name is shown. The brush you select is highlighted in blue. If you then change to a normal brush and later find you need to go back and add more of the texture brush, is there a way you can find out what brush you used or do you have to remember? Quote
Staff MEB Posted April 6, 2022 Staff Posted April 6, 2022 Hi @Dangerous, Currently there's no way to know the brush you have used. The number you see in the Brush panel is just the brush width. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Dangerous Posted April 6, 2022 Author Posted April 6, 2022 Thanks for the quick response, I wondered what the number was as it wasn't unique. I guessed there was no way of getting the brush name with it being a pixel brush. Maybe if they were vector brushes but I've not seen vector brushes in any program I have used, don't know if they are even possible. Quote
Staff MEB Posted April 6, 2022 Staff Posted April 6, 2022 Affinity Designer does have a vector brush engine however at this point all brushes except two (first two brushes in the Pens category) are just raster textures stretched or repeated along a vector path (depending on the brush settings) so not true vector brushes. We hope to expand/improve this later to also support pure vector based brushes. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Dangerous Posted April 6, 2022 Author Posted April 6, 2022 That would be good. Again thanks for the info. Quote
