Antie B Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 Hey everybody. I'm new to Affinity Publisher so I hope this problem has an easy fix. I'm attaching a screen capture. I created my table of contents and included the desired heading styles. Most of it looks okay, except for 2 problems: 1. The hyperlinks don't work/won't click through to the page numbers. 2. I am getting an extra line of dot leaders to page 6. The first one is correct, based on the heading but the other appeared without any relation to a heading... There are no other headings on that page. Also there is another phantom listing for page 7. Any help is appreciated. Quote
Old Bruce Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 The extra line and the blank one for page 7 are most likely Paragraphs with no text in them but they have the text style applied. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Are you having that problem within Publisher or while viewing the exported PDF? If it's while viewing the PDF, what export preset did you use? If it was one of the Print ones, those have hyperlinks turned off as they don't make sense in a print document, but you can turn them on in the More... options in the Export dialog. Antie B Posted April 5, 2022 Author Posted April 5, 2022 @Old Bruce I thought so too, and I went to the layers panel and there were no empty text boxes on those pages. In the end, I went in and removed each element one by one and updated the table of contents each time to see which element was the culprit. Turns out it was one of my text boxes that was creating the blank reference even though it was not styled with one of the selected styles in my TOC. I removed the text box and recreated it from scratch then it was fine. I guess the text box was corrupt. Thanks for your suggestion though. 😀 Quote
Antie B Posted April 5, 2022 Author Posted April 5, 2022 @walt.farrell Thanks - much appreciated. I went to the Export > More dialog box and checked on Include Bookmarks but that didn't work. Here's a screen shot. Which option should I have checked on? Quote
walt.farrell Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 Include Hyperlinks (Just above the Bookmarks option) but it seems to be unavailable with that Preset, perhaps due to some other option that's specified? Why not use the PDF Digital option, or one of the other non-print-related PDF Presets?
