How do I exclude the top vertex from having shadows while the rest, 3 vertices do have the shadows? (the type of shadow is the outer shadow)

If all the vertices are a square you will need to convert the square to curves and break the curve at the top nodes.

Assuming they are vector shapes, 'merge' the square and the triangle into a single object.

Make sure both are selected, right click on them and from the menu pick Geometry > Add

(Alternatively the same option is in the Layer menu).

They should now be a single object with a single shadow.
